Even before the Galaxy S6 was made official, Samsung had given customers a taste of full metal-clad smartphones by releasing the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and later on, the Galaxy A7 models.

Now, it appears that Samsung is looking to expand the Galaxy A line with a new model. As Sam Mobile reports, the Korean tech giant is looking to introduce the Galaxy A8 at some point down the road.

The phone will be made available in markets across Asia and Europe, but sadly customers in America will probably not get the same treatment.

What’s more, the Galaxy A8 will apparently borrow one of the Galaxy S6’s key features, the touch-based sensor.

The report goes on to mention that the Galaxy A8 is expected to arrive with a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and draw life from an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor fitted with 2GB of RAM.

Samsung is also throwing in a 16MP/5MP camera combo, 16GB of internal storage, LTE, and a decent 3,050 mAh battery. Android 5.0 Lollipop will be the default operating system running things on board.

The phone will have a metallic frame and a sleek 5.9mm / 0.23 inch profile.

We’re not told when Samsung plans to roll out this particular smartphone, but if the company prices it right, the mid-ranger might have a chance or two to survive.
