The Samsung Galaxy A5 should soon follow suit

Not so long ago, we told you that the Samsung Galaxy A5 and A7 were scheduled for the Android 5.0.2 in June, but it appears that the company has finished work a little bit earlier. At least in Russia.

So Sammy is rolling out the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Galaxy A7 a few days before we step into the new month (as seen at Sam Mobile).

The Galaxy A3 is already getting the sweet Lollipop treatment in Russia, and now its higher-end brother is receiving it as well in the country.

The new update adds performance and stability improvements, better battery life, and a new, lighter TouchWiz interface sprinkled with Material Design hints.

The update arrives via OTA (over-the-air) but is also available via Samsung’s Kies. The Russian rollout is actually a soak test, so if everything goes well here, other markets should start receiving the new build pretty soon.

And as we are nearing June, the Samsung Galaxy A5 should start seeing the update pretty soon too.

If you are in Russia and are yet to see a notification that Android 5.0.2 Lollipop has arrived on your device, don’t be impatient. It usually takes a few days for a new soft update to become widely available on a given territory.
