Samsung has been long rumored to plan the release of a second Galaxy Nexus smartphone, one that was said to feature model number GT-i9260 (since the original is GT-i9250), but it appears that said device could be a totally different phone.

GT-i9260, instead, should arrive on shelves as Galaxy Premier, with mid- to high-end features, such as 4.65-inch 720p display, 1.5 GHz dual core processor, an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back and 2MP front camera.

A photo with the device has emerged online over at Mobile Geeks, showing a design closely resembling that of Galaxy S III.

Running under Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, the new handset is expected to become official before the end of this year, with a price tag of $620 (€480) attached to it.

It still remains to be seen what Galaxy Nexus II, provided that Samsung is working on one, will be all about.
