Samsung’s Vice President and Head of Design Strategy, Dong-hoon Chang, has confirmed “off the record” that the company's next flagship smartphone, Galaxy S5, will be officially announced at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014.

During a New Year's party held in Seoul, Chang also said that the Galaxy S5 would be made out of “new material,” so we can say goodbye to cheap plastic.

However, there have been many sources claiming that Samsung plans to launch two different versions of Galaxy S5, one that will be made out of the same plastic used for the Galaxy S4 and another one built of some metal alloy.

Furthermore, GforGames reports that Samsung's exec also said that his company was still considering a “flexible display” for the Galaxy S5, so all previous reports claiming that the device would get a curved touchscreen display might have been accurate at some point.
