When no one thought it was possible, Samsung and Sprint announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is now available for Epic 4G Touch.

Software update GB27 should be live today, March 28, over-the-wire. According to Sprint, due to file size, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is only available via Samsung Kies desktop software.

Although the carrier mentions that this update is optional, most of Samsung Epic 4G Touch owners will download Jelly Bean as soon as it becomes available.

Hopefully, it won't break the phone as with other Jelly Bean updates pushed at various US-based carriers.

There are no additional details on the changes included or what version of Jelly Bean Samsung Epic 4G Touch owners will be able to flash on their devices, but we will keep our eyes peeled for any info. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
