Bad news for Samsung Galaxy Note II owners in Canada as the hotly-anticipated Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update has been delayed for next month.

Although the handset maker announced a few weeks ago that Galaxy Note II owners would be able to upgrade their smartphones at some point this month, Samsung recently backtracked on its original statement.

The folks over at MobileSyrup have reached out to Samsung for more details on the availability of the update and received a disappointing answer.

For unknown reasons, the rollout of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy Note II has been pushed back a few weeks.

According to Samsung Canada, the upgrade is now scheduled for deployment for “early February.” No additional info on the exact release date has been given, but stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
