South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is reportedly gearing up for the launch of new devices in the Galaxy Mega series, after enjoying success with last year’s Galaxy Mega 6.3 and Galaxy Mega 5.8 phones.

According to a recent article on SamMobile, the company might be set to bring the second-generation Galaxy Mega handsets to shelves with Exynos processors packed inside, though specific info on them hasn’t been provided as of now.

However, it seems that the company could very well launch a hexa-core Galaxy Mega device, the same as it did with the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, so as to deliver better performance capabilities when compared to last year’s models.

Additionally, said upcoming smartphones are expected to run under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

The one thing that hasn’t been unveiled as of now is whether the company will continue using the same large size for these models. Chances are that there will be only minor modifications in this regard, though an official confirmation has yet to emerge.

Unfortunately, no specific info on when the new Galaxy Mega models could become official has been provided so far, though the next several months might shed some light on the matter. Keep an eye on this space for updates.
