US-based carrier Verizon Wireless launched the Samsung ATIV Odyssey last week for only $50/€40 with a new two-year agreement.

However, it only took a few days for major retailer Best Buy to discount the Windows Phone 8 handset to $0.

Customers who do not bother committing to a new two-year agreement will not be able to grab the Samsung ATIV Odyssey for free. Check it out here.

Unlike the standard ATIV S, Samsung ATIV Odyssey packs only 8GB of internal memory and sports a much smaller 4.0-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, as well as 1GB of RAM.

The ATIV Odyssey also features a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
