Samsung might be set to bring to the market a successor for the already highly popular Galaxy Nexus smartphone, one that would reportedly sport the name of Galaxy Nexus 2.

The handset has already been spotted online with model number GT-I9260 attached to it, and has made another appearance recently, in the EXIF data attached to a 2448 x 3264 photo on Picasa.

Apparently, the handset sports an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, up from the 5MP camera that can be found on the current flavor of the device.

The photo is said to have been taken with a Samsung GT-I9260 model powered by firmware I9260XXALJ1, the same software that runs on the Galaxy Note II smartphone.

Provided that this is indeed Galaxy Nexus II, it should hit the market with Android 4.2 on it, and it comes as a surprise that it is not running under it already.
