The update is deployed OTA (over the air), in stages

Canadian carrier Rogers has confirmed earlier this month that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will be available for the HTC One Mini on February 26. However, the upgrade only made its way to One Mini owners today, but a one day delay should not be so troublesome.

The information has recently been confirmed by Rogers on its “OS Upgrades” webpage and the folks over at MobileSyrup say that the update is now live.

Those who have yet to be notified of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update can manually check for it by going to Settings / About phone / Software update. As always, we recommend those who receive the upgrade to back up their sensitive data prior to updating.

In the same piece of news, Rogers also mentions in the same online document that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S4 will also receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update. Unfortunately, aside from the “Coming Soon” tag, no additional details on availability have been disclosed.

Hopefully, more information will be made available in the coming days, though Samsung has already kicked off the rollout of KitKat for both Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 in some countries, so we should expect Rogers to release it without further notice. Stay tuned for more on this.
