The smartphone is available for purchase for $250/€190

Republic Wireless has just announced it has started to ship the Motorola DEFY XT to customers that have signed up for their services and have ordered the smartphone.

The device is priced at $250/€190 plus taxes and surcharges, while the start-up fee is $10/€7.5 per phone (includes shipping).

Motorola Defy XT is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and packs a 1 GHz single-core processor, which is accompanied by 1GB of ROM and 512MB of RAM. It also comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone sports a decent 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

There’s also a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
