Mountain View-based Internet giant Google is gearing up for the release of an updated version of the dialer application in Android, and a recent tweet coming from the @GoogleNexus Twitter account confirms this.

While trying to offer support for a user, said account actually leaked a screenshot with what appears to be the next version of the Android dialer.

The screenshot shows an application similar to the one available in the mobile operating system at the moment, though it does include a series of new visual elements. For example, the new application comes with a blue action bar, while also featuring a blue business image.

As Android Police notes in a recent post, the change appears to be in line with the rest of the visual upgrades that Google is expected to announce in the not-too-distant future for many of its applications.

When released, the dialer will be preset on Nexus devices out there, as well as on all Google Play Edition handsets that are available for purchase at the moment. Moto X users also enjoy most of the features and UI elements in stock for Android.

No specific info on when the new app version might become available for download has been provided as of now, but chances are that additional details on the matter will emerge sooner rather than later, so stay tuned to learn the news.
