The folks at Rdio have just released a major update for their Android application with the same name.

Rdio for Android has been completely redesigned and is one of the most popular music apps available in the Google Play store.

Firstly, the application’s user interface received consistent improvements, along with the playlist editing feature. There’s also a new nice grid view for New Releases area.

With the latest version of Rdio, users will be able to jump to album from track in playlist, and they will also be able to view all extended search results.

Developers also improved buffering player UI when loading tracks, and introduced clickable URLs in activity system. Bug fixes have been included as well.

Rdio 2.2.1 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
