Research In Motion’s BlackBerry service is currently experiencing a series of issues in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Apparently, only some of its users are seeing these issues, yet RIM hasn’t provided specific info on how many of them are affected by the BlackBerry Internet Service outage at the moment.
“We are currently experiencing a BlackBerry service issue impacting some users in Europe, Middle East & Africa. All relevant support teams are working to resolve the issue. We apologize to any customers who may be affected,” RIM reportedly commented on the matter.
The issues are said to have appeared after RIM applied a scheduled maintenance to the service last night. There’s no telling on how long it will take for the company to bring the network back online, but keep an eye on this space for additional details on the matter.
Update: It appears that things are starting to return to normal for some users. A Vodafone subscriber in the UK says that he was able to use the service:
"I have now been able to BBM my Vodafone friends so looks like things here in the UK are back to normal."
Update 2: RIM posted on its UK Twitter account that the service has been fully restored. No further info on the matter has been provided.
"Some users experienced issues with BlackBerry services today. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. All services now operating normally," the company said.
Update 3: RIM Spain contacted Softpedia to let us know that the service has been indeed restored, apologizing once again for the inconvenience.
