As expected, Public Mobile has just gone live with its first Android phones, the ZTE N762 and Max, which are now available for purchase for $150 (110 EUR) and $170 (125 EUR), respectively.

Although these are affordable handsets, they are excellent alternatives for customers who never experienced Google’s Android platform.

Both devices are powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread and feature Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support, along with built-in GPS receiver.

The ZTE N762 comes with a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen, while the Max sports a smaller 3.2-inch touchscreen display. The former also packs a 2-megapixel camera, whereas the Max embeds a slightly better 3.2-megapixel rear camera.

Each smartphone allows users to expand the internal memory up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. According to Public Mobile both phones come with a manufacturer's one year warranty.
