Last week, a new version of the Play Store application for Android devices has emerged online, namely version 4.3.10 (also being pushed OTA to devices), and many users have already downloaded and installed it on their handsets and tablets.

The new app flavor brought along various enhancements to all users out there, though it might have also caused a series of issues on some devices, a recent post on droid-life notes.

Many users are reporting that, following the installation of the new Play store, a “Package file is invalid” error being displayed when trying to update their applications.

The issue pops up inconsistently, it seems, as some apps can be updated just fine. However, in some cases, it emerges even when trying to update Google applications. Some claim that going to Settings > Apps and clearing the Play Store cache might resolve the issue.

What remains to be seen is whether the problem was indeed caused by the Play Store 4.3.10 update, since some users say that the same error emerged even before installing it.
