The new version brings improvements and an upgraded Chromium

Opera Software has just released a new version of its beta browser for Android devices. This is a major upgrade, as the application has been bumped from version 15 to 16.

First of all, Opera Mobile 16 beta provides users of the browser with a brand new Chromium. According to developers, Chromium has been upgraded to version 29.

In addition, the download manager has been improved, along with NFC (Near Field Communication) functionality. A compression method change in Off-road mode has been included as well.

Last but not least, various stability and performance fixes have been added, but developers have yet to offer any additional details on these.

You can now download Opera Mobile 16 beta for free from Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application is compatible with all devices running Android 2.3 and up.
