Opera Max for Android, the application that compresses mobile video and photo in order to save data while browsing the Internet, has just been updated with new features and improvements.

Keep in mind though that this is still in beta, so you might experience bugs and/or occasional issues. However, Opera seems to update the application pretty often, so many of the bugs reported may be squashed quickly in these updates.

The newest version of Opera Max has been confirmed to bring support for IPv6 on Android 4.0 and 4.3 devices. Android 4.4 KitKat devices will remain on IPv4 due to a bug that prevents support for IPv6.

Aside from that, Opera has announced that the update adds adjustable video savings level in preferences and some application blocking UI and logic improvements. New timeline cards have been included as well, such as “Rate us” and “Share.”

The developers have also brought some hints for applications with no savings, which can be accessed by clicking on the “I” icon. Last but not least, some stability and bug fixes have also been included.

You can now download Opera Max beta for Android 0.9.563 for free via Softpedia. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
