Chinese company OnePlus has just teased its new mobile operating system for Chinese market, HydrogenOS. The new platform will be officially introduced in the Mainland on May 28.

As GizChina points out, HydrogenOS is the Chinese version of OxygenOS which powers the OnePlus One smartphone. Obviously, it's based on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and will bring lots of new features and improvements.

OxygenOS is the company's take on Android Lollipop and has been recently released for OnePlus One. The Chinese company has two versions of OnePlus One available on the market, and the other one is powered by CyanogenMod OS.

Since Cyanogen wasn't so quick on delivering updates for OnePlus One, the Chinese OEM decided to make its own version of Android so it can release upgrades much faster.

Unfortunately, that wasn't really the case with the OnePlus One, but we expect the situation to improve in the coming months, as OnePlus gains more experience in software developing.

HydrogenOS will be packed with the same features as OxygenOS, but it will probably include some apps and services that are limited to China. We will know more about HydrogenOS later this month when the new platform is expected to go official.
