The update is only available via BlackBerry Desktop Manager software

Australian customers who still feel attached to RIM's BlackBerry devices and services will be happy to know that the carrier has just started the rollout of OS 7.1 for two handsets in its portfolio, the Bold 9790 and Curve 9320.

The long-awaited OS 7.1.0.569 for Bold 9790 and Curve 9320 is now available for download via Research In Motion's (RIM) support site, but require users to have the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager on their computers.

The latest software update promises to bring lots of new features and enhancements, which are surely to make both BlackBerry smartphones more appealing.

Keep in mind that we're not sure what changes it will bring to the Curve 9320 as the smartphone already comes with BlackBerry 7.1 out of the box.

On the other hand, the Bold 9790 is expecetd to get Wi-Fi hotspot and BlackBerry Tag with NFC sharing, as well as important enhancements to Facebook, Twitter, SMS & MMS Messaging and BlackBerry Music. Check it out here.
