Both updates can now be downloaded via RIM’s support site

Research In Motion (RIM) has just released a new software update for BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 sold by Canadian carrier SaskTel.

Both updates are now available for download via RIM’s support site, check it out here. However, before downloading BlackBerry OS 7.1.0.523 for any of the two smartphones make sure you have the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed.

The new software update will bring several new features to both smartphones, as well as lots of bug fixes and enhancements, which are meant to improve the overall stability of the phones and user’s experience.

Among the most important changes included in these updates, users will notice that the smartphones will receive Wi-Fi hotspot and BlackBerry Tag with NFC sharing capabilities

In addition, other important improvements to social network apps such as Facebook and Twitter will be included as well, along with enhancements to SMS & MMS Messaging and BlackBerry Music.
