Rogers’ customers who own the BlackBerry Torch 9810 rejoice as the OS 7.1 update has finally reached the carrier’s airwaves.

Users should make sure they have the latest BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed on their PCs. It is also recommended to back up all personal info prior to updating to the latest version of BlackBerry operating system.

The update brings new features, including BlackBerry Tag, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, as well as some enhancements in various areas such as Facebook, Twitter, SMS & MMS Messaging, BlackBerry Music, Camera, HD Video Playback, and BlackBerry Maps.

There are still quite a few regions where Research In Motion needs to deliver the latest BlackBerry 7.1 OS for its smartphones, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

The software update v7.1.0.1310 is about 265MB in size and can now be installed via BlackBerry Desktop Software. Check it out here.
