Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia appears set to finally make the long-anticipated Nokia EOS smartphone official on July 11, and has already sent out invitations to a press event held on that day in New York City.

Although it did not specify what exactly would be announced at the event, the company did say on the press invitation that it would present “Zoom. Reinvented,” which suggests that the 41-megapixel Lumia smartphone might indeed be the star of the show.

It will be a five-hour event for the press, analysts and other guests, a recent article on ZDNet explains, and the PureView-powered camera phone should be unveiled there, along with various software technologies meant to improve the overall imaging experience of Lumia users.

The upcoming device is said to sport a 4.5-inch screen, the same specs as Lumia 920, and the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 OS (the Amber update) loaded on top.
