The first Android smartphone ever launched by Nokia, the X has just arrived in the UAE. The smartphone that runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system is now available for purchase for only 440 AED ($120 / €85) outright.

Emirates247 reports that Ajey Mehta, vice-president, Nokia Middle East, has confirmed that the more advanced Nokia X+ and Nokia XL smartphone will be launched in UAE stores by the end of April or the first week of May.

Potential customers in UAE should know that the Nokia X is now available in bright green, bright red, cyan, yellow, black and white color options.

Price-wise, the smartphone will probably compete with another Nokia smartphone that sells very well in UAE and which is the Lumia 520, which is powered by Windows Phone.

The Nokia X, on the other hand, comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, as we have mentioned earlier. The smartphone sports a decent 4-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

In addition, the smartphone is equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play processor clocked at 1GHz, as well as 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. There's also a 3-megapixel main camera on the back and microSD card slot for storage expansion.
