Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia might have agreed to sell its handset division to Microsoft, but it seems that it doesn’t consider leaving aside plans to expand its Series 40 devices lineup as much as possible.

According to the latest rumors on the matter, the company is planning the launch of a new handset in the series, one that would land on shelves as Asha 230.

Little is known on the device at the moment, but a recent tweet from @evleaks suggests that the mobile phone will be codenamed Nokia Spinel.

No details on when the device will be brought to the market have been provided as of now either, so it remains to be seen whether Nokia will manage to make it official before the deal with Microsoft is completed. Stay tuned for more on this.
