No official announcement on the matter has been made so far

Instagram is not available for Windows Phone devices, nor has it been officially confirmed for the platform, but Nokia appears to believe that it will arrive on its Lumia handsets at some point in the future, maybe a not too distant one.

Recently, Nokia Sweden stated on its Facebook page that the application was sure to land on Windows Phone, although no details on the release date have been offered so far.

The comment has already been removed from the social network, which might suggest that it could have been an accidental unveiling, as WPCentral notes.

At the same time, there is also the possibility that the comment was posted in error, and that the application isn’t being built for this platform, as Instagram officially said a few months ago.

The one thing that is certain, however, is that Windows Phone users want the app, and that this should be a good enough reason for it to be developed.
