Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is reportedly working on its own Windows RT tablet PC, and is already using it for testing applications.

The company was rumored before to plan the release of such a device, yet no official confirmation on the matter has emerged so far.

Based on an ARM chipset, the upcoming device is said to be currently used for testing apps in the Windows Store, at least this is what sources familiar with the company’s plans suggest, according to WMPoweruser.

The company never denied plans for launching a Windows 8 tablet, and the company’s CEO even said this week that the release of the Surface tablet would not influence Nokia’s decision to enter the tablet space, although there was nothing to announce in this area.

If a Nokia Windows RT device is in development, we might learn more on it soon, so stay tuned.
