The roll-out of the Windows Phone 7.8 update has been halted in various markets in Europe, and Nokia has confirmed on Thursday that this applies to Russia as well.

Responding to a user inquiry on the availability of the update for the Lumia 800 in the country, Nokia Russia said on Twitter that the deployment has been stopped, WP7forum.ru has found out.

The update was previously announced to have been put on hold in Germany as well, yet Microsoft hasn’t offered a specific explanation for this as of now.

Some of the previous reports on the matter, however, suggested that a series of Live Tile issues that emerged on devices following the update might have determined Microsoft to push the kill button on it, WMPoweruser notes.

Unfortunately, there’s no telling on when the update might start arriving on devices once again.
