Nokia has confirmed that it sold no less than 7.4 million smartphones in Q2 2013, which is an encouraging number for the Finnish company.

Today, Wall Street Journal reports that Nokia sold even more Lumia handsets in Q3 2013. According to sources close the matter, the handset maker sold around 8 million Lumia smartphones in the third quarter.

Although Nokia's sales of Lumia smartphones can't be compared with Samsung's sales of Galaxy handsets, the continuous growth of the Finnish company proves that customers are more and more tempted to switch to Windows Phone platform.

With Nokia World 2013 just around the corner, we can expect Nokia to have an even better sales growth in Q4, as the company plans to launch five or six new devices this month. Stay tuned for more on this.
