One of the appealing applications that the owners of Nokia devices powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system can now download and install on their handsets is Nokia Place Tag, currently available in a beta flavor.

The mobile application was previously showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and is now live in the Windows Phone Store for all users to get a taste of it.

“Nokia Place Tag takes more than a photo. It reveals info about the places within your photo, such as museums and famous buildings, which you can then share as a postcard to your friends,” Nokia notes in the application’s description.

Furthermore, the application provides users with the possibility to receive info on places they have tagged in a photo, and to easily receive directions to these locations.

Nokia Place Tag for Windows Phone 8 can be found on this page in the Windows Phone Store.
