The N9 is the one device that Nokia does not want. Fortunately, the community managed to give the smartphone new life through lots of custom ROMs and tweaks that improve the N9’s functionality.

Nokia N9 owners who don’t think MeeGo operating system is a good solution for this device can now try out Google’s latest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean platform.

A Russian developer managed to port the latest version of Android on the Nokia N9 and published a screenshot to prove that it’s doable.

However, we still don’t have any details on what exactly works and what things still need to be ironed out, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

On a side note, Nokia N9 recently received a PR1.3 major update, which added hundreds of new features and enhancements that improve the overall performance of the smartphone.
