Nokia has just updated is mapping service to support Windows Phone 8. In fact, the application now requires Windows Phone 8 or higher platforms in order to run successfully.

Nokia Maps works in most places where Bing Maps fails miserably. According to Windows Phone users the former is also much faster and easier to use.

The latest version can only be installed on Windows Phone 8 devices and features some stability and performance improvements, which have yet to be detailed by Nokia.

That’s about all the changes included in this update, but more will certainly be added in future releases.

Nokia Maps 3.0.125.8 is now available as a free download via Windows Phone store. Keep in mind that the application cannot be downloaded on the Web, so you can only get it directly from the smartphone.
