Lumia 920, Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone 8-powered smartphone, has just received the necessary approvals from the Federal Communication Commission.

We already knew that the smartphone would be released in the United States, but no specific info on when that should happen has emerged.

With the phone already approved for use in the country, it should not be too long before an official announcement on its landing is made, that’s for sure.

However, the US-friendly model still has to make an appearance at the FCC, as only Lumia 920.1, which sports model number RM-821 and support for LTE bands outside the country has passed through the certification process at the feds.

AT&T is expected to make the handset available on its network in a month’s time, and a new flavor of the phone should be spotted at the FCC in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
