It's been less than three months since Verizon and Nokia teamed up to offer customers the Lumia 822 and the smartphone's price has finally been dropped to $0.

Verizon Wireless now offers the Lumia 822 for free to customers willing to commit to a new two-year agreement. Check it out here.

The no-contract price of the smartphone is $450 (€340), so those who do not want to be tied by a long-term agreement can grab it for its upfront cost.

Nokia Lumia 822 is a good alternative to the elusive Lumia 920. The former is equipped with a powerful 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD memory card.

The smartphone also boasts an impressive 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, dual-LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
