Good news for Vodafone Australia customers who own the Nokia Lumia 820, as the carrier has just announced a new update is now available for download for their devices.

The mid-range Windows Phone 8 handset is now receiving PR 1.1.5 software update, which brings some improvements, bug fixes and a few new features.

The most important is the fact the 4G support has been enabled, so Lumia 820 owners will be able to take advantage of blazing fast data speeds.

According to Vodafone, the update also allows the phone to play videos sent from a Samsung Galaxy via MMS. Other stability and quality improvements have been included as well, along with some general performance enhancements.

Last but not least, the official changelog mentions that the update fixes the freezing issues and the reboot problems.

Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might take a while to reach all Nokia Lumia 820 handsets.
