Starting today, mobile phone users in the United States can purchase a new Windows Phone 8 device on the network of wireless carrier T-Mobile, namely the Nokia Lumia 521.

Made official in February, the smartphone arrives at this wireless carrier as a special flavor of the Lumia 520 handset, the most affordable Windows Phone 8 device in the world.

At T-Mobile, it costs $29.99 (around 23 Euro) upfront with the signing of a two-year contract, with 24 monthly payments of $5 each. Those who would like to grab it contract free will have to pay $149.99 (116 Euro) for it.

Lumia 521 arrives on shelves with a 4-inch screen, a 1GHz dual-core processor inside, a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a 1430 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Up until now, US users could purchase the device through various retailers, but it is now available via T-Mobile too, and can be seen on this page on its website.
