Last week, Nokia’s cheapest Windows Phone 8 smartphone out there, the Lumia 520, went available for pre-order in India through online retailer Flipkart, and is already listed on the company’s website as the second most popular handset in its offering.

The smartphone features a price tag of 10,499 INR (around $194 / 152 Euro), which appears to attract a lot of users to its side, even before its official debut in the country, set for this week.

In fact, as WMPoweruser notes, other Windows Phone 8 devices at Flipkart also proved highly popular, with Lumia 620 also listed as one of the top 20 popular smartphones at the retailer.

Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform doesn’t enjoy increased market share in the smartphone OS segment worldwide, but the availability of cheaper devices powered by it should help it gain some more ground, especially in emerging markets such as India.
