A new flavor of the popular Nokia City Lens augmented reality application is now available for download for the owners of Windows Phone-based handsets from the Finnish vendor.

Released as version 1.3, the new app iteration has already arrived in the Windows Phone Store, though it might not be visible for all users out there from the start.

No specific info on what was changed in the software has been provided, and it seems that there are no visible changes, which suggests that the new release comes mainly with improvements to performance, as Plaffo notes.

Nokia City Lens, initially available for devices powered by Symbian, will see further development only on Windows Phone. Nokia announced recently that the Symbian and MeeGo flavors of the software have been removed from its future plans.

The company has concluded the beta trial for Nokia City Lens for these two platforms, but it will allow users to continue using the software.
