Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has made available for download a new software update for the owners of Nokia Asha 306 devices, namely version 7.42.
Available for both RM-767 and RM-768 versions of the mobile phone, the new firmware release brings along various stability improvements, as well as performance and usability enhancements, together with some new features.
There’s a WhatsApp launcher included in the new software release, along with updated flavors of the Xpress Browser, Nokia Store, News and Offers, and Notifications applications.
Additionally, refreshed versions of the Chat and Email applications and a new eBuddy launcher, along with Twitter and Facebook applications have been added to the handset (however, users will need to apply the update via Nokia Suite to receive them).
“We have started rolling out a new software update for Nokia Asha 306 (RM-767 & RM-768): v.7.42. The update is already available to many countries via Nokia Suite and expected to become available also via FOTA soon,” the company said in a blog post.
