Great news for Windows Phone fans who use Nimbuzz instant messaging application on a regular basis, as developers have just released a small update that adds a major feature.

According to trutower, the latest update for Nimbuzz for Windows Phone brings free VoIP calling for everyone using a device powered by Microsoft’s mobile operating system.

“Voice calling has been long awaited on Windows Phone 8 and we are excited to bring this service to our users who have showed faith in our belief of making communication free. We are aggressively working on major improvements and more exciting features that will surely add greater value to your conversations,” said Shailesh Soni, product manager for Windows Phone.

Aside from that, the folks at Nimbuzz have confirmed that some bug fixes have been included in the update as well, but no additional details have been provided.

You can now download Nimbuzz for Windows Phone for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 7.5 and up.
