Nimbuzz Messenger is one of the most popular messaging services available on old and new Nokia phones. The application has been recently updated to offer support for Nokia’s Asha 501 handset.

Thanks to the Wi-Fi connectivity provided by Asha 501, users will be able to join wireless networks when in range and take advantage of Nimbuzz Messenger low-cost calls.

Aside from the fact that it offers VoIP (voice over internet protocol) functionality, Nimbuzz brings chat features, as well as Facebook and Google Talk integration.

Keep in mind that in order to make VoIP calls with the application, users will need to be connected to Wi-Fi and have enough Nimbuzzout credits, which can be purchased within the app or via the developer’s website.

In the same piece of news, Nimbuzz and Nokia have confirmed that the messenger will also be available for Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503.
