Nexus 5 and 6 OTA updates have yet to be released

Google has just kicked off the rollout of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA (over the air) updates for Nexus 4 smartphones and Nexus 9 LTE tablets.

These aren't the first devices that got the update since Google delivered Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA updates for Nexus 7 (2012), Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 10 and Nexus Player earlier this month.

It looks like it took Google more than two weeks to continue the rollout of Android 5.1.1 to other Nexus devices. Well, beginning today, Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 LTE owners will be able to download the update over the air.

Now that these devices have received the latest version of Android, we are now waiting for Google to release Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA updates for Nexus 5 and Nexus 6.

However, with Google I/O just around the corner, it remains to be seen whether or not the search giant will be able to offer OTA updates for the rest of Nexus devices.

Android 5.1.1 Lollipop adoption is very low since Google has just started the rollout of the update. With the next version of Android coming in fall (possibly), there's a high chance that Lollipop 5.1.1 will only be available on several smartphones and tablets.

Anyway, thanks to the folks over at Droid-Life, you can now download the Nexus 4 and Nexus 9 LTE Android 5.1.1 OTA updates.
