Nexus 4, last year’s Google phone, has been removed from the Australian Google Play Store, leaving users with only one option when trying to purchase a new smartphone from the portal, namely the new Nexus 5.

Apparently, the entire Nexus 4 stock sold out today at Google Play in Australia, which determined Google to remove the handset completely from the online store.

As Ausdroid reports, Nexus 4 used to be available in the country in both 8GB and 16GB flavors, and saw a price cut back in August, in an attempt to spur sales.

The phone became quite popular during its one year of availability, despite the fact that it landed on shelves without support for 4G LTE networks.

At the moment, users in Australia interested in the acquisition of a new Android device via Google’s portal will be able to choose between the Nexus 5 and two tablets, the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.
