It looks like Google has just released the Android 4.4 KitKat factory image for Nexus 4, so those who wish to tinker with the files can now download it via the developers' website.

That's rather unusual considering that Google has yet to push the Android 4.4 KitKat OTA (over the air) update to Nexus 4 devices.

For the time being, only Nexus 7 and 10 Wi-Fi editions have received the highly anticipated updates, but Google has confirmed that the GSM versions along with the Nexus 4 will be upgrade very soon.

It's unclear when exactly the OTA update for Nexus 4 will go live, but we will keep an eye out for this one, so stay tuned.

In the same piece of the news, Google has also released the binaries for Nexus 4, so those who wish to download these as well should head over to the developers' website.
