A new software update is being prepared for the owners of an HTC ThunderBolt smartphone on Verizon Wireless’ network, with various enhancements inside, but not Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Arriving on devices as version 2.11.605.19 710RD, the new software update for ThunderBolt by HTC arrives with enhanced device features, including better stability and less resets.

Following the update, users will find their handset to be enabled with the Wireless Alerting System, and they will also be able to take advantage of Cisco Any for better VPN functionality.

The data connectivity also receives improvements in the new software update, the same as the default mail application, which now receives messages properly for Yahoo! Mail accounts.

The new firmware was also destined to resolve some issues with the Mobile Hotspot connectivity, as well as with the incoming calls, which did not display the correct state before (when applicable).

More info on the update can be found on Verizon's support website.
