Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless are pushing out a new software update for the DROID 3 smartphone.

The new firmware – detailed on Verizon’s support website at the beginning of this month - features system version 5.7.906.XT862.

We already had a look at what the software is meant to improve on the handset, but it appears that there will also be a feature that was not included in the release notes.

The new update also packs inside a fix for the MMS bug that was found to affect the smartphone, it seems, at least this is what those who already received it claim.

Another enhancement that will surely make users rejoice is the inclusion of better 3G connectivity on the DROID 3, users report. Overall, the new firmware is meant to offer a nice range of improvements to Motorola’s users, although it is not the latest Android version out there.
