The folks at Rdio have just launched a new version of their music application for Android devices. This is a major release that brings several important new features and improvements.

The latest version of Rdio comes with a completely redesigned UI and offers a new look and feel. The update adds design elements similar to desktop version, thus making it clean and minimal.

Furthermore, there’s a new side-bar navigation panel that’s up on the left side of the application. It includes various menus, such as Your Music, Settings and Playlists.

The update also brings a new feature called “Remote control,” which will provide users with notifications in case “Rdio is playing elsewhere.”

Rdio 2.4.1 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.2 and up. Check it out here.
