Google’s second-generation Nexus 7 tablet PC is expected to become officially available for purchase in the UK on August 28, the latest reports on the matter unveil.

According to a recent article on Pocket-lint, ASUS themselves confirmed the aforementioned release date for the device, while also saying that it will be offered through various retailers.

The UK launch comes one month after the device landed on shelves in the United States, where it is being sold via the Google Play Store.

The second-generation Nexus 7 is expected to feature a price tag of £199.99 ($310 / €232) in the UK, with 16GB of internal memory and Wi-Fi-only connectivity capabilities. The 32GB Wi-Fi model should be priced at £239.99 ($373 / €279).

The 7-inch slate packs a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a 1.2MP front camera. It is powered by a 3950mAh battery and runs under Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
