We reported yesterday that two new firmware versions for Sony Xperia PLAY have been recently certified and now it looks like more Xperia smartphones will receive software updates.

The folks over at XperiaBlog report that all Xperia smartphones powered by the ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 chipset will receive a new 6.1.1.B.1.75 firmware version. The following handsets are eligible for this update: Xperia U, Xperia P, Xperia sola and Xperia go.

Unfortunately, there are no details on what changes it brings. We have yet to learn when exactly the new firmware version will make its way onto the listed smartphones.

In the same piece of news, Xperia ion will also receive a software update as the device has had firmware version 6.1.E.3.7 certified. Keep in mind that both versions of Xperia ion, LT28i and LT28h will get the new firmware.
