Owners of a Galaxy S II smartphone can now download and install on their devices a new flavor of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which has been designed specifically for them.

The new Android 4.0 build for the mobile phone is an official ROM from Samsung that has just leaked online, and shows that the handset vendor is making significant progress towards the release of a final OS upgrade for its users.

The new build, KP8, is reportedly based on the Android 4.0.3 OS flavor that was made available several weeks ago.

The software is reportedly available for download via the Kies application, though it’s unclear whether it is a final build or only an intermediate one.

Before this month is over, Samsung is expected to make the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS available for its Galaxy S II users, with its own TouchWiz UI packed inside.
